Callum Scott Howells and Gabrielle Creevy to Lead Channel 4 Thriller The Night They Vanished

Callum Scott Howells and Gabrielle Creevy will lead The Night They Vanished, a six-part thriller now filming in Wales for Channel 4.

Creevy plays Anna. Howells plays Cai. The casting was reported by Deadline.

The series adapts Vanessa Savage's novel of the same name for television. Angharad Elen and Hannah Daniel are writing the adaptation.

Channel 4 has pre-bought the drama, meaning the broadcaster agreed to air it before filming is finished. The deal was struck by Polly Scates, Channel 4 Head of Acquisitions, and Acquisitions Manager Felix Jones.

BBC Studios label CliffEdge Entertainment is producing the show and selling it worldwide. Geraint Todd is directing, with Sian Elen John as series producer.

Sarah Creasey, Sathe, Angharad Elen and Branwen Williams serve as executive producers for BBC Studios, according to Deadline.

The wider cast adds familiar faces and new talent. Tamzin Outhwaite plays Jo, Anna's stepmum. Steffan Rhodri plays Idris, Anna's father.

Matthew Gravelle, Lisa Victoria, Jack Quick, Andrew Lennon, Callum Hymers and Bella Shewan also star.

For viewers, this means a new Welsh-made thriller with its central pair set and cameras already rolling. A transmission date has not yet been announced.
