Taylor Swift holds movie songs chart for third month as Spider-Man tracks crowd top 10

Taylor Swift has kept No. 1 on Billboard's Top Movie Songs chart for August 2026 with 'I Knew It, I Knew You' from Toy Story 5.
Billboard confirmed the August tally on 30 September. It is a third straight month on top for the song, which first led the June chart and then held the July list as well, according to Billboard.
The margin was tight. In August in the United States, 'I Knew It, I Knew You' earned 51.8 million official streams and sold 8,000 downloads, according to Luminate, the company that tracks US music consumption. The song also stayed in the top five of the Billboard Hot 100, the main US singles chart, during August, reaching as high as No. 2 on Aug. 22. It had debuted at No. 1 on the Hot 100 dated June 20 and led for two weeks in total.
The Top Movie Songs chart ranks songs heard in films. Billboard says the rankings combine song and film data from Tunefind, which logs music used on screen, with sales and streaming data tracked by Luminate.
The closest challenge in August came from Spider-Man: Brand New Day, which premiered on July 31 just before the survey period and placed four songs in the top 10. Tame Impala's 'Loser' finished at No. 2 with 51.2 million streams and 4,000 downloads in the US in August. The film sync pushed the song to a new Hot 100 peak of No. 18 on Aug. 29.
Steve Lacy's 'Oh Yeah?' from the same film was No. 3 on the movie chart with 46.9 million streams and 2,000 downloads. It climbed as high as No. 19 on the Hot 100 after the film feature. Two more songs from Spider-Man: Brand New Day made the August movie top 10: Bad Bunny's 'EOO' at No. 5 with 28.1 million streams and 1,000 downloads, and TV on the Radio's 'Wolf Like Me' at No. 7 with 6.5 million streams and 1,000 downloads.
The rest of the August top 10 shows how widely film music is capitalised across genres and audiences. Robyn's 'Dancing on My Own' from Voicemails for Isabelle was No. 4. Fleetwood Mac's 'Silver Springs' from Don't Say Good Luck was No. 6. Backstreet Boys' 'Bottle Up' from Paw Patrol: The Dino Movie was No. 8. Descendants: Wicked Wonderland took the final two places, with Kylie Cantrall and Malia Baker's 'Perfect Princess' at No. 9 and Leonardo Nam and Rita Ora's 'Mad' at No. 10.
What makes this run stand out is how the song has carried across formats. 'I Knew It, I Knew You' is Swift's first film song to reach No. 1 on the Hot 100, and it later topped Billboard's Radio Songs chart, the all-format US airplay chart, to become her ninth airplay leader, according to Billboard. It also reached No. 1 on Adult Pop Airplay. The parent Toy Story 5 soundtrack, led by the single, debuted in the top 10 on three Billboard album charts in July.
