All eight episodes of Barbershop will arrive on Prime Video on February 10, 2027.

Amazon MGM Studios confirmed the date with two first-look images of the cast, according to its announcement. The series will stream exclusively on Prime Video. Amazon MGM Studios

Jermaine Fowler leads the series as Travis ‘Trav’ Walker. The character sits at the centre of a new story set in the world of the long-running film franchise. Variety

The main cast includes Brett Gray, Punkie Johnson, Roy Wood Jr., E.J. Bonilla, Bresha Webb, Bokeem Woodbine, Tiana Okoye and Langston Kerman. Guest stars include Zack Fox, Ego Nwodim, Diallo Riddle, Ziwe, Tituss Burgess, Comedian CP, Devon Walker and Belmont Cameli.

Marshall Todd and Max Searle are the showrunners, meaning the writers in day-to-day charge of the series. Todd co-wrote the original Barbershop film. Oz Rodriguez directs the series and serves as an executive producer.

The series is produced by Amazon MGM Studios. Kevin Hart’s Hartbeat and Prominent Productions are also listed as production companies behind the project.

Barbershop began as a film in 2002, followed by sequels in 2004 and 2016. The spin-off film Beauty Shop, starring Queen Latifah, was released in 2005. The three main Barbershop films have grossed nearly $200 million worldwide.

This is not the first move to television. Showtime previously aired a Barbershop sitcom starring Omar Gooding that lasted one season. A new series was first reported to be in development at Amazon in 2023, after Amazon completed its MGM acquisition, before Prime Video ordered the Fowler-led version.

For fans, this means a full-season drop. No weekly wait. Eight episodes, one day, and the shop doors open again.
