Barbershop Comedy Series Sets February 10 Premiere on Prime Video

Prime Video will launch all eight episodes of its comedy series Barbershop on February 10, 2027.
Jermaine Fowler leads the show as Travis ‘Trav’ Walker. The date was confirmed by Amazon MGM Studios in a press announcement. Amazon MGM Studios
Fowler’s Trav returns to Chicago to honour his grandfather’s legacy at Calvin’s barbershop. The series is inspired by the Barbershop film franchise, as reported by Deadline. All eight episodes will drop at once, exclusively on Prime Video.
That release plan puts the full season in front of viewers in more than 240 countries and territories on the same day. No weekly wait. Just one drop.
The main cast around Fowler includes Brett Gray, Punkie Johnson, Roy Wood Jr., E.J. Bonilla, Bresha Webb, Bokeem Woodbine, Tiana Okoye and Langston Kerman. The line-up blends stand-up, sketch and scripted comedy experience.
Guest stars add extra faces across the season. They include Zack Fox, Ego Nwodim, Diallo Riddle, Ziwe, Tituss Burgess, comedian CP, Devon Walker and Belmont Cameli.
Behind the camera, Marshall Todd writes and serves as co-showrunner, meaning joint head of the writers’ room and production. Todd co-wrote the original Barbershop film. Max Searle shares co-showrunner duties and is an executive producer. Oz Rodriguez directs and is also an executive producer.
The show draws on a long-running film property. The Barbershop franchise spans four films centred on the staff and customers of a barbershop on Chicago’s South Side. Together, those films grossed over $235 million worldwide.
Barbershop comes from Amazon MGM Studios, MGM Television, Hartbeat, Busy B Entertainment, Prominent Productions and State Street Pictures. Amazon MGM Studios lists it as an original series Season 1. Prime Video has also released two first-look photos from the production.
For fans, this means a familiar shop with a new lead. Trav walks into Calvin’s carrying family history, and eight episodes will tell that story from the start.
