Ariana Madix to Star in Peacock Sci-Fi Drama Future Housewives

Ariana Madix is swapping the villa for an asteroid.
She is set to star in Future Housewives, a drama in development at Peacock, Deadline reported. The project is in development, meaning writers are working on it but the streamer has not yet ordered it to series.
Madix will play a young, starry-eyed outsider. The story is set in the asteroid colony of New Beverly Hills, where wealthy socialites juggle bioengineered beauty regimens, ruthless rivalries and interplanetary scandals, according to the official logline cited by Variety. That logline bills the show as a sharply satirical yet surprisingly heartfelt reinvention of reality TV.
The series hails from Brannon Braga and Seth MacFarlane's Fuzzy Door and comes from Universal Global Television. Braga will write and executive produce alongside Madix, MacFarlane and Erica Huggins, with Jaron Lanier as co-executive producer.
For Madix, it is a home-turf move. She hosts Love Island USA, which airs on Peacock. She spent 11 years on Bravo's Vanderpump Rules before building wider theatre and television credits, including a Broadway debut as Roxie Hart in Chicago, a turn as Connie Francis in Just in Time, and guest roles on NBC's St. Denis Medical and ABC's Will Trent.
It is also a business step. Future Housewives is the debut scripted project in development from her production banner Over Fences, which she launched after her reality run.
What makes this stand out is the pairing. Braga wrote on Star Trek: The Next Generation and Star Trek: Voyager and co-created Star Trek: Enterprise. Here he is applying that space opera toolkit to housewives-style social warfare.
