Sony has booked the end of 2027 for two large cinema releases. Treasure Island will open in cinemas on 11 November 2027, with 24 Jump Street following on 10 December 2027, as reported by Variety. Both are theatrical releases, meaning they will play in cinemas first.

Treasure Island will be directed by Ridley Scott and star Hugh Jackman. The screenplay is by Jack Thorne. It is billed as a remake.

Pirates first. Cops next.

24 Jump Street will be directed by Rodney Rothman, who co-wrote the script with Jonah Hill and Meghan Malloy. Phil Lord and Chris Miller are returning as producers. Jonah Hill, Channing Tatum and Ice Cube are in talks to return, which means negotiations are under way but no final deals have been signed.

November 2027 is now crowded on Sony's own calendar. The studio had earlier set its Helldivers film for 10 November 2027, according to IGN. That date sits one day before Treasure Island. Helldivers is based on the video game franchise and will star Jason Momoa, as reported by Deadline.

What makes this stand out is the timing. Treasure Island and Helldivers are currently listed a day apart, while 24 Jump Street lands almost a month later in the early December corridor favoured by family audiences and year-end releases.

For fans, this means three familiar names are now pencilled in for cinemas within five weeks of each other. Studios often shift dates as production firms up, so the calendar can still change. For now, Sony holds two of the last big slots of 2027.
