Nobody Wants This adviser criticises Adam Brody over Gaza remarks

The rabbi who advised on the first season of Netflix's Nobody Wants This has publicly criticised its star, Adam Brody, over Brody's comments on Gaza.
Rabbi Steve Leder was the technical adviser for Season 1, meaning he checked details for accuracy, according to Deadline. Brody plays Rabbi Noah Roklov in the series opposite Kristen Bell as Joanne Williams.
The dispute follows an interview Brody gave to GQ. In it, Brody said he believes Israel's actions in Gaza are a genocide and that he wants a free Palestine, Deadline reported. Brody also said it was awful that it had taken so much death, according to reports of the interview published on Sept. 25 by The Hollywood Reporter.
Leder responded on his Instagram page, according to Just Jared. In his post, Leder called Brody an "ignorant Jew." He wrote: "You by your own admission are a relatively ignorant Jew," The Hollywood Reporter reported.
Leder's earlier work on the show involved vetting Jewish authenticity. That included details such as Rabbi Noah's schedule and Hebrew word pronunciation, he told the Jewish Telegraphic Agency in 2024.
Brody is also known for appearing in The O.C., according to The Hollywood Reporter. Season 3 of Nobody Wants This premieres Oct. 22 on Netflix, Deadline reported.
For viewers, this means the new season arrives with its lead actor and a former adviser publicly at odds. Netflix has not announced any change to the release plan.
