John Galliano authors first Re{form} collection for Zara in Paris

John Galliano has designed the first Re{form} collection for Zara, the high-street chain owned by Inditex, the Spanish retail group. The full title is Re{form} Zara Authored by the Couturier John Galliano. Its tag line reads "authored by couturier John Galliano" Vogue.
Zara is presenting the collection in a historic mansion in the Marais district of Paris. The showcase runs from Thursday through Tuesday. Entry is by appointment only WWD.
The space is staged as an immersive exhibition that tells the backstory of Re{form} Zara. The exhibition comes before the shopping experience. Visitors walk through the research first, then reach the clothes.
Galliano described the pop-up, a temporary shop, as an invitation into the mind of a couturier. He said it was a chance to discover the imagination, research and technical development behind a collection. Couture here means hand-finished, made-to-measure dressmaking at the top tier of fashion.
Displays include historical objects drawn from Galliano's personal collection. Among them are sketches from "Les Incroyables", his 1984 graduation collection. That college collection launched his career.
The first lineup deconstructs Zara's archives, the company's store of past designs Fashionista. Galliano has reworked that material into couture-led pieces. The process involved cutting apart familiar high-street shapes and rebuilding them with couture methods.
The collaboration forms part of a two-year creative partnership. The collections had been scheduled to debut in September 2026.
Zara's website also lists a product titled 'JOHN GALLIANO UNSEEN BOOK (ENGLISH)'. The retailer says the book holds previously unpublished photographs and traces Galliano's creative process, artistic vision and style.
What makes this stand out is the order. Look first. Ask questions. Shop second. For fans, this means the Marais stop is closer to a small exhibition than a standard launch.
