Quavo says the death of Takeoff pushed him to put aside his differences with Offset — and to make music with him again.

The rapper discussed the relationship in an interview with Complex's Idea Generation, published on 30 September 2026. He said Takeoff's death helped mend what had been a fractured connection between the two surviving members of Migos. Billboard

Asked how the loss changed things with Offset, Quavo said: "I feel like it eased it a little bit." He added: "Me losing my brother, it can't get no tougher than that."

He said the loss led him to set aside things he had been upset about and friction between them. That grief, he said, put other disputes in perspective. Complex

Takeoff, the third member of Migos alongside Quavo and Offset, was fatally shot. Quavo released the song "Without You" as a tribute to him.

Quavo confirmed that he and Offset have a Migos album in the works. He said the pair have been in the studio cooking new music together.

He said he wants fans to decide whether he and Offset did right by Takeoff with the forthcoming record. That is the test he set for it.

Quavo also gave details of his solo album, QROMELIFE. He said the album will be fully produced by Pharrell, meaning Pharrell made all of its beats. It will also feature a reunion with Offset.

The interview builds on earlier comments from Offset about a thaw. In an August 2025 interview, Offset said he and Quavo check in and talk every other week. He also discussed a possible joint album with Quavo to honour Takeoff.

Offset had raised the idea of working together even earlier. During an October 2023 appearance on The Breakfast Club, he said a song collaboration with Quavo was possible.

For fans, this means two separate releases to watch. A Quavo solo album with Pharrell behind the boards, and a Migos project that Quavo says will be judged on how it honours Takeoff.
