Queen Letizia wears Floral Tiara for French state dinner in Madrid

Queen Letizia of Spain chose diamonds shaped as flowers for France's big night in Madrid.
The Queen wore the Spanish Floral Tiara for a gala dinner she hosted with her husband, King Felipe VI, in honour of French President Emmanuel Macron and his wife, Brigitte Macron Royal Central. The jewel is a tiara, a formal jewelled band worn for white-tie occasions, made as a row of diamond flowers.
The dinner was held at the Royal Palace of Madrid on 29 September 2026 Casa Real. It formed the centrepiece of a two-day state visit, the highest rank of official visit between countries, which the Spanish Royal House listed for 29-30 September 2026. The programme gives its formal title as "Visita de Estado de Sus Excelencias el Presidente de la República Francesa, Sr. Emmanuel Macron y la Primera Dama, Sra. Brigitte Macron".
King Felipe spoke at the dinner. The Spanish Royal House published video of his speech from the palace that evening.
Queen Letizia paired the tiara with a pale blue evening gown by Carolina Herrera. The dress was cut with a light, sweeping skirt and covered in sparkling embroidery that caught the palace lights.
The Floral Tiara is known for its delicate lines and clear stones. The band carries small diamond flowers in a continuous row, set to give what Spanish coverage called a unique brilliance.
What makes this stand out is how quickly the look travelled. Spanish fashion press nicknamed the Herrera gown the 'Frozen' dress for its icy blue colour and cape-like drape Hola. International coverage then likened the full tiara-and-gown combination to a Disney princess Hola. It was a state occasion. It photographed like a fairy tale.
