Kelli Garner and Michael Stahl-David to Lead Road Romance You Always
Kelli Garner and Michael Stahl-David will lead You Always, a romantic road movie from writer-director Brian Jett, as reported by Deadline.
Garner plays the high school sweetheart. Stahl-David plays the photographer still hung up on her. Their story restarts at a 20th high school reunion.
That reunion sends his character on the road. A listless photographer, he drives to the Southwest in search of the girl he knew at school. It is a love story told through a journey, with the miles doing much of the talking.
Jett wrote the script and directs and produces the film. His earlier credits include Let Go, starring Kevin Hart, David Denman and Gillian Jacobs.
The wider cast adds Oliver Cooper, John Patrick Amedori and Sabrina Jalees in ensemble roles. Thousand Miles Entertainment is producing the picture, with Caitlin Carleton co-producing alongside Jett.
Cameras are already rolling. Principal photography, the main shoot, is under way across Pittsburgh, Los Angeles and Albuquerque.
The project has been developing for some time. Stowe Story Labs, which supports emerging screenwriters, named Jett and the drama feature You Always to its June Stowe Narrative Lab roster in 2025, according to Stowe Story Labs.
What makes this stand out is the shape of it. Small cast. Open road. One unresolved romance carrying the distance between three American cities.
