Kena: Scars of Kosmora delayed to 2027 for extra polish

Kena: Scars of Kosmora will now release in 2027, moving out of its planned 2026 window.
Ember Lab chief operating officer Josh Grier and game writer Thomas Varga confirmed the new date in a post on the official PlayStation Blog published on 1 October 2026, Video Games Chronicle reported.
Fans will wait a little longer. The sequel is planned for PS5 and PC. It was originally announced during State of Play, PlayStation's online showcase event, in February.
The studio said the extra time will be used to polish the expanded game. The aim, in its words, is to exceed the quality of its 2021 debut, Kena: Bridge of Spirits.
Scars of Kosmora continues the story of Kena, now described as an accomplished Spirit Guide, a traveller who helps restless spirits move on. This time she journeys to the mysterious island of Kosmora in search of a cure for her own affliction, according to material on Ember Lab.
The project is the current focus for Ember Lab, an independent studio based in California. The company was founded in 2009 by brothers Josh and Mike Grier as an animation studio before moving into games.
Bridge of Spirits, its first game, was released for PS5, PS4 and PC in September 2021. It later arrived on Xbox Series X/S in 2024.
That first release also shifted date. It had an initial release date of 20 September 2021, then moved further into September 2021 to allow polish across all platforms.
For fans, this means more of the same approach: a small team taking extra months rather than rushing the follow-up. Ember Lab has not yet given a firmer date within 2027.
