Stockdale set for 150th Ulster appearance at Glasgow

Jacob Stockdale is in line for his 150th appearance for Ulster against Glasgow Warriors on Saturday.
The Ireland international has been named at full-back for the trip to Scotstoun, according to BBC Sport. It is a rare landmark. Few players reach a century and a half of games for one province.
Ulster face Glasgow in the United Rugby Championship at 17:30 BST. The game is scheduled for 3 October 2026 at Scotstoun, Glasgow's home ground, as listed on the United Rugby Championship match centre. The Championship is the 16-team league featuring clubs and provinces from Ireland, Wales, Scotland, Italy and South Africa.
Stockdale will wear 15. Full-back is the last line of defence, the player who fields high kicks and starts counter-attacks from deep. His selection gives Ulster an experienced voice at the back.
Three players are set for their first starts for the province. Prop Keynan Knox, scrum-half Matthew Devine and back Chay Mullins all come into the starting 15. A first start means a first call in the run-on side, rather than minutes off the bench.
Knox packs down in the front row, where body position and timing carry the scrum. Devine plays scrum-half, the link who passes the ball away from the ruck — the contest for the ball on the ground after a tackle. Mullins joins a reshuffled backline.
The changes come partly from necessity. Michael Lowry and Robert Baloucoune both suffered concussions in Ulster's previous match against Edinburgh. Concussion is treated soberly in rugby. Players must stand down and clear head-injury checks before they can return.
What makes this stand out for supporters is continuity. Stockdale has been part of Ulster's story for years. Knox, Devine and Mullins are at the start of theirs. Saturday puts both ends of that journey on the same teamsheet.
