Naughty Dog reportedly developing new Uncharted starring Drake and daughter

Nathan Drake may be climbing again, and he may not be alone.
Naughty Dog is reported to be developing a new Uncharted game that could star Drake and his daughter as its leads, according to reports citing people familiar with the plans. Nothing is confirmed. The studio has announced no date, no platforms and no story.
The claim was first reported by MP1st on 30 September 2026, which described an all-new game rather than a remake. VGC said on 1 October 2026 that its own sources could partially corroborate the project, and pointed to a father-daughter pairing. The earlier report had said only that Drake would appear in some capacity, with his role undetermined.
That earlier report names Shaun Escayg as director. Escayg directed Uncharted: The Lost Legacy, a standalone expansion to Uncharted 4: A Thief's End centred on Chloe Frazer. He later served as creative director on Marvel's Avengers at Crystal Dynamics.
The same report places the Uncharted project next in line after Intergalactic: The Heretic Prophet, the studio's announced new franchise, with The Last of Us Part III to follow. That order comes from sourcing, not from a Naughty Dog release schedule. The studio has not confirmed what comes when.
It has been ten years since a new story in the series. The last mainline entry, meaning a core numbered sequel, Uncharted 4: A Thief's End, was released in 2016. It was followed by The Lost Legacy in 2017 and the Uncharted: Legacy of Thieves Collection for PS5 and PC released in 2021 and 2022. In 2023, studio president Neil Druckmann said the team had "moved on" from the series.
Talk of a return is not new. A 2022 report followed comments from Naughty Dog recruiter Christina-Marie Drake McBrearty about building future teams and preserving the legacy of Uncharted. Escayg himself left Naughty Dog in 2018 after seven years before joining Crystal Dynamics, where he was among 15 new staff announced for the Avengers project in January 2018.
Naughty Dog has kept the series visible. It recently marked 10 years of Uncharted 4 with a message from Nathan Drake, plus new Steam community items and a PS5 background.
For fans, this means a familiar face rather than a clean break, if the reports hold. A Drake family story would keep the link to the original hero while opening room for a new lead.
