Christie's in London will stage a second Artists for Climate Action auction during Frieze week in London.

Artists Igshaan Adams and Patricia Leite will donate artwork to the sale, as reported by ARTnews on 1 October.

Frieze week is the October run of fairs and evening sales that brings collectors, galleries and museum staff to the city.

Christie's, the auction house based in London with salerooms in New York and Hong Kong, regularly schedules sales to meet that crowd.

A benefit sale works differently from a standard commercial auction.

Here, the artists give the work.

The house then offers it for public bidding.

Buyers pay a hammer price, the bid the auctioneer closes on, plus extra fees known as buyer's premium.

Adams and Leite are the two donors confirmed in the reporting so far.

Their lots will be consigned, placed with the house for sale, directly for the benefit auction.

That gives each work a short and clear provenance, the documented chain of ownership, from studio to saleroom.

For fans, this means Frieze week has an extra sale to watch.

You do not need a paddle to follow along.

Christie's publishes results lot by lot after its sales, so anyone can check what sold and for how much.

What makes this stand out is the simplicity.

No loan forms. No wall labels.

An artist hands over a work, the house auctions it, and the room decides the price.

The listing is described as a second edition.

The first sale used the same Frieze-week timing.

More details — the full artist list, the number of lots, estimates and where the proceeds will go — were not in the reporting to date.

That is normal for an early announcement.

Catalogues and estimate ranges, the low-to-high prices published before a sale, usually follow closer to the auction.

If you want to follow it, watch for the catalogue.

It will list each lot with size, medium and estimate.

Results will show hammer prices and prices with fees separately.

Keep the two apart, and you will read the night correctly.

For now, two names are in.

The rest of the list is still to come.
