Mike Wald is retiring from Sony Pictures Television after 32 years with the company.

Wald, co-president of distribution and networks, will leave at the end of 2026, Variety reported on 1 October 2026. That unit is the sales arm of the studio. It licenses Sony shows to broadcasters and streamers around the world and oversees its channels.

Jason Spivak and Paul Littmann will take over as presidents of distribution and networks. Spivak already holds the job jointly with Wald. He will now share it with Littmann.

Littmann steps up from executive vice president of global distribution. Both men will report to Sony Pictures TV chairman Keith Le Goy.

The handover caps a long run for Wald. He spent much of his early career in Asia, where he helped launch AXN Asia and SET India. Those launches built two of Sony’s best-known channel brands outside the United States.

Spivak and Littmann inherit a team in change. Flory Bramnick, executive vice president of North America distribution, recently announced her departure after 24 years with the company.

Monica Veiga now oversees North America as executive vice president of distribution, North America. She picks up the domestic sales business, meaning deals with US broadcasters, cable networks and streaming services.

Internationally, Mark Young will serve as head of international. He will oversee three regions — EMEA (Europe, the Middle East and Africa), LATAM (Latin America) and APAC (Asia-Pacific) — and report to Spivak and Littmann.

Sony also plans to hire a new leader for its YouTube and digital platforms business. That person will report to Spivak and Littmann as well.

For viewers, this means little changes on screen. The same team keeps selling the shows. What changes is who signs the deals that decide where those shows appear next.
