Pablo Alborán and Riza have premiered “Deditos Cruzados” on 1 October, a collaboration that started in front of a crowd rather than behind closed studio doors.

The song was conceived at Billboard Latin Music Week in October 2025, Billboard’s annual gathering of Latin artists, executives and producers. Alborán and Riza began writing it during “Making the Hit, Live!”, a panel session where a track is built in real time while the audience watches. Billboard

They did not work alone. Producer Julio Reyes Copello and sound engineer Natalia Schlesinger joined them on stage to shape the music and sound as the room looked on.

The format is now an established part of the week. “Deditos Cruzados” is the fourth song to emerge from “Making the Hit, Live!” at Latin Music Week.

The three previous releases from the session tell the story. They are Blessd and Ovy on the Drums’ “Billboard”, Pedro Capó and Carín León’s “Existo”, and Grupo Frontera’s “Ya No”.

Riza, credited in full as Riza Godoy, is a young singer who announced the collaboration with Alborán as a surprise in early September, according to advance coverage. Europa FM

That announcement kept details short. The 1 October premiere filled in the gap, confirming the title and releasing the finished song almost a year after the first writing session.

What makes this stand out is the paper trail. Fans who attended the 2025 panel heard the starting point. They can now hear how those first ideas sound as a completed record.
