The Miami Heat will take the floor as Vice City on 18 November 2026, the night before Grand Theft Auto VI launches. The promotion is titled 'A Night In Vice City'. It is scheduled for the Heat's home game against the Milwaukee Bucks at Kaseya Center in Miami, according to Video Games Chronicle.

For that game only, the basketball team will rebrand as Vice City. The players will wear a reimagined uniform created for the event. They will play on a specially constructed Vice City Court, built for the night.

A rebrand of this kind does not change the club itself. It is a temporary look for one evening, covering the name, the designs on the floor and the shirts worn by players. The court gets a makeover too.

The club plans additional activities throughout the arena for fans attending the game. That includes special Vice City merchandise made for the evening. It gives supporters in the building something to see, do and take home beyond the basketball.

Basketball fans had an early clue that something was coming. In September, a large "Welcome to Vice City" sign was installed on Kaseya Center as part of marketing for the game, according to CBS News Miami. The sign linked the arena, the team's home, directly to the fictional city in the game's title.

Grand Theft Auto VI is scheduled to launch on 19 November 2026. It is an open-world game, a style where players move freely around a large map on foot and by vehicle while following a story. The new entry is set in a fictionalised version of Miami.

It returns players to Vice City for the first time since 2006's Grand Theft Auto: Vice City Stories. The map is said to be twice as large as the map in Grand Theft Auto V, the series' previous entry. The game will also feature a dynamic, localised weather system in Leonida, the fictional state that holds Vice City, with tropical storms and hurricanes.

What makes this stand out is geography. The Heat play in Miami. The game recreates Miami. For fans in the building, this means a league game and a launch celebration in one night.
