Alison Hammond says she is fine after leaving This Morning live on air

Alison Hammond walked out of a live edition of ITV's This Morning on 2 October after suddenly feeling unwell, then told fans she was fine.
The presenter was hosting alongside Dermot O'Leary when the episode happened. She later said in her own words that she had felt a heart palpitation, a sudden flutter or pounding in the chest, and was getting her heart checked, as reported by Variety.
Viewers saw the disruption happen in real time. Hammond clutched her chest as she left the set during the live broadcast, according to reports of the show Metro. When This Morning returned after an ad break, O'Leary explained to the audience that Hammond had to duck out because she felt unwell. He stayed on and presented the rest of the programme solo.
Hammond addressed the scare herself soon afterwards. She posted a video to her Instagram Stories, the short clips that disappear after a day, to reassure people who had been watching. In it, she said she was fine and apologised to the This Morning team for having to leave unexpectedly. She added that she hoped the episode was just a panic attack.
Further reporting said Hammond was taken to hospital after leaving the set Express. Hammond did not share further medical detail beyond saying her heart was being checked. No other statement about her condition has been released.
Hammond is a familiar face to British television viewers. She is a regular This Morning presenter and also a co-host of The Great British Bake Off. Live television leaves no room for an edit, so an exit of this kind is visible immediately to everyone watching.
For fans, the follow-up video mattered most. A sudden absence mid-show can be worrying to see. Hearing Hammond speak for herself, and hearing that she was being checked, closed the loop quickly.
