The Network has picked up two international dramas for audiences in the United States. The free streaming service has acquired the US rights to Australia's Thou Shalt Not Steal and Scandinavia's The Trio, Deadline reported on October 2. US rights means The Network becomes the American streaming home for both shows.

Thou Shalt Not Steal lands first. It starts streaming on October 6, four days after the deal was reported. The Trio follows on November 17.

Thou Shalt Not Steal is an eight-part road series. That means one continuous story told across eight episodes while its characters are on the move. It stars Miranda Otto. It was created by Tanith Glynn-Maloney and Dylan River, who developed the story for the screen.

The series began life in Australia. It was first ordered by Australian streamer Stan, which gave the production the go-ahead. It was then produced by Ludo Studio and Since 1788 Productions. Ludo is the company behind the children's series Bluey, as noted when Deadline first covered Stan's drama order in 2023.

The Trio arrives from Scandinavia. It is a SkyShowtime original series, meaning it was commissioned for that service. It is based on the novel by Johanna Hedman. It stars Rebecka Harper, Felix Sandman and Seth Manteus.

Behind the camera, the scripts are by Veronica Zacco. Direction is by Anders Hazelius. Production is by SF Studios, which made the series for its first release.

The buyer in both deals is The Network. It is a free streaming service founded by Aram Rappaport. Free means viewers do not pay a monthly subscription to watch. Licensing deals of this kind, where one service buys the right to show a series in one country, are how many international dramas reach new audiences.

For viewers, this means a quick payoff. Thou Shalt Not Steal is ready to watch in days, not months. The Trio then gives them a second date to put in the diary for November.

What makes this stand out is the pairing. One Australian road story and one Scandinavian adaptation land on the same free shelf within six weeks.
