Paul Anthony Kelly has stepped into American Horror Story Season 13 as a younger Mr. Nas, the hidden power behind the Apollyon.

His first appearance comes in episode four, titled "Is That All There Is?" The Hollywood Reporter. The older Mr. Nas is the mysterious figure overseeing Ben, played by Joey Pollari, at the Apollyon. He stays out of sight.

The older man is characterised as a wealthy man in his late 80s and nearly immobile, according to TheWrap. He lives on the 13th floor of the Apollyon and is under the care of Constance and Ben DeSoto. The name Apollyon has Biblical connections to the devil, as noted by CinemaBlend.

Constance Langdon, played by Jessica Lange, explains the link in episode four. She says Mr. Nas summoned her in his most beautiful form. He offered her the chance to help him create a new world order and gain the throne.

She said yes on one condition. She could be a mother again and "do it right" this time.

Lange carries four roles this season. She portrays Constance Langdon, Sister Jude, Fiona Goode and Elsa Mars, listed on FX Networks. Episode four brings back Elsa Mars from American Horror Story: Freak Show. Short version: one actor, four past characters, one season.

Elsa takes centre stage in the episode's ritual. She presides over a ceremony in which 13 women are offered as sacrifices to Mr. Nas. During the rite she performs Peggy Lee's "Is That All There Is?"

Kelly is new to this world. He previously played John F. Kennedy Jr. in Love Story: John F. Kennedy Jr. & Carolyn Bessette. That was his first TV role, which makes American Horror Story his second TV show.

The wider Season 13 cast includes Sarah Paulson as Cordelia Goode, Hypodermic Sally and Ms. Wilhemina Venable. Emma Roberts is also part of the cast, while Pollari plays Ben DeSoto.

For fans keeping track, episode four ties the new villain directly to familiar faces. Old characters return. New deals come with old costs.
