Luhring Augustine is closing its gallery at 17 White Street in Tribeca, in lower Manhattan in New York, people close to the gallery told Artnet News.

The report was published on October 2. The gallery has not confirmed the plan.

The 3,500-square-foot White Street space opened in September 2020. The gallery's main location remains at 531 West 24th Street in Chelsea, the gallery district in Manhattan in New York.

The last show at White Street was "In a Free State," organised by artists Salman Toor and Doron Langberg. It ran from June 26 to July 31, according to the gallery's exhibition listing.

Luhring Augustine did not respond to requests seeking comment, Artnet News reported. Its website still lists the Tribeca address as open "by appointment."

In Chelsea, the current programme is "settle for a good fantasy," with work by Janice Guy, Joe Mama–Nitzberg, Shaun Pierson and David Seidner. The gallery listing says the show runs from September 11 to October 24, 2026.

For visitors, this means one address to remember. White Street is winding down. Chelsea is where the next show is on.
