Megan Thee Stallion kept her October tradition alive on Friday, Oct. 2, posting her annual pumpkin-head photo shoot to Instagram.

The set arrived one day after Oct. 1, the date fans associate with the yearly pictures. She acknowledged the short delay herself. “Look, I was working on Oct 1st okayyy,” she wrote on her IG Story, according to Billboard.

This year’s photos show her wearing a carved pumpkin on her head with a blonde wig flowing out from underneath. She poses at a table with tacos and bottles of Chicas Divertidas tequila. Her hairstylist, Kellon Deryck, appears beside her in some of the shots.

The one-day wait did not go unnoticed. Fans left messages under her 2025 pumpkin post to ask where the 2026 edition was. The new post answered them. It keeps a run going that now stretches back several years.

She first shared pumpkin-head photos on her @theestallion account on Oct. 1, 2022. The caption joked about Halloween and wanting a pumpkin head. A year later she marked the season early with a giant pumpkin-head mask. She continued the custom in 2024 to welcome the Halloween season, and People included her 2022 pumpkin-on-head look in its roundup of the year’s best celebrity costumes.

Her link with Halloween goes back further. In November 2021, People pictured her arriving at a Halloween party in Los Angeles in its Star Tracks roundup.

The shoot came during a busy stretch for new music. Earlier in the week she brought back Tina Snow, the tougher alter ego she uses on some records, for the “Tina Tuesday Freestyle.” She is also teasing a forthcoming project billed as Act: III. On Sept. 25 she featured on Dolly Babe’s “Pink Blush (Remix).”

Her most recent solo album, Megan, was released in 2024. It opened at No. 3 on the Billboard 200, the weekly ranking of the most-consumed albums in the United States, with 64,000 album-equivalent units, the measure that converts streams and sales into one album figure, as counted by that chart.

What makes this stand out is the regularity. Many artists dress up for Halloween. Few turn it into a dated appointment fans check for. For followers, the pumpkin signals two seasons at once: Halloween and another Megan rollout. The photos give casual viewers an easy entry point, while long-term followers get the payoff of a joke kept up year after year.
