Turnstile Make Saturday Night Live Debut With Never Enough Songs

Turnstile played Saturday Night Live for the first time on 3 October, appearing as musical guest alongside host Dakota Johnson.
The Season 52 booking put the five-member Baltimore group on the long-running United States sketch show, which pairs a host with a musical act each week. Turnstile play hardcore, a fast and high-volume offshoot of punk built for small clubs as much as large stages. NBC
They opened with “Birds.” It was direct. The band stayed tight around the microphone line and finished without extra staging.
Their second slot was a medley of “I Care” and “Dull.” All three songs come from Never Enough, the band’s current album. Rolling Stone
Never Enough is Turnstile’s fourth album. It follows 2021’s Glow On, which first brought the group to a wider audience beyond hardcore.
The SNL appearance came the night after the band played Austin City Limits in Texas. That schedule gave them two large live audiences on consecutive nights.
The material arrived with recent awards behind it. “Birds” won Best Metal Performance at the Grammys in February. Never Enough won Best Rock Album at the same ceremony, the 68th Grammy Awards, where the group was recognised in both rock and metal categories.
What makes this stand out is the setting. SNL gives each musical guest only two or three songs. A hardcore band using that short window for one single and a two-song medley puts new work in front of viewers who may not follow the genre.
For fans, this means a clear record of the Never Enough run so far. Three album tracks on network television, one night after a festival stage, and two Grammy wins already logged this year.
