Shakira's Oct. 3 concert in Madrid is the most-viewed livestream performance by a female artist on Amazon Music to date.

Amazon Music announced the record on Oct. 4, the day after the performance, Billboard reported. The announcement put a single night in Spain at the top of the platform's own measure for livestreams by female solo performers.

More than 50,000 fans attended the Madrid concert in person. The same show streamed live across Amazon Music, Prime Video and Twitch for viewers watching elsewhere. Access required no subscription, so anyone with the services could open the stream without paying, according to About Amazon. The free window meant the crowd inside the venue and the audience online shared the same start time.

The night included a surprise for both audiences. Dua Lipa walked on stage to join Shakira during the set. The pair performed an acoustic version of "Antología", built around stripped-back instruments rather than a full touring production. That song comes from Shakira's 1997 album Pies Descalzos, which introduced much of her early Spanish-language catalogue to a wider public.

The Oct. 3 date was one night of a 12-date residency at Shakira Stadium. The residency forms part of her Las Mujeres Ya No Lloran World Tour. It opened on Sept. 18 and wraps with its 12th date on Oct. 11, giving the Madrid run a clear three-week span.

A residency keeps an artist in one venue for several nights instead of moving staging from city to city. Shakira Stadium was organised to work exactly that way. It was built as a temporary venue inside Madrid's Iberdrola Music complex specially for this run, rather than as a permanent arena with a year-round calendar.

Amazon Music presented the broadcast under the title 'Shakira Live from Madrid', as listed by Prime Video. The event was billed as live for one night only. Coverage began at 11:45 a.m. PT, which was 2:45 p.m. ET and 8:45 p.m. local time in Madrid, allowing fans in different zones to plan around a single live start.

The livestream led Amazon Music's 2026 Women Shaping Latin Music campaign, its programme spotlighting women working in Latin music and culture. The Madrid concert was also Shakira's first full-concert global livestream. That campaign framing placed the record-setting night inside a wider push around women in Latin music, rather than as a standalone broadcast.

What makes this stand out is the mix of scales on one evening. A packed stadium, a free global feed and a surprise duet all landed on the same night. Each route reached a different part of the audience at the same time.
