ITV Studios is taking The Chase on the road. The company has placed The Chase Around the World at the head of 10 new titles it will offer to buyers at Mipcom, the annual television sales market in Cannes, Variety reported.

A formats slate is a catalogue of show ideas. Broadcasters buy the concept and remake it with local hosts, contestants and language. That is why one quiz can travel far beyond its home channel.

The Chase Around the World is a spin-off of ITV's quiz The Chase. It runs to six hour-long episodes, produced by Bright Entertainment, an ITV Studios label, for ITV. Six pairs of contestants travel across Europe to track down six Chasers waiting in undisclosed locations. Bradley Walsh hosts, FormatBiz previously reported.

ITV Studios executive Mike Beale discussed the title ahead of the market, C21Media reported. The project began life as a primetime format from the team behind the original quiz, according to earlier trade coverage.

The rest of the unscripted slate, as listed by Variety, spans survival, food, escape and natural history. Expedition Into the Wild contributes 12 hour-long episodes from ITV Studios Sweden. It launched on Kanal 5 in Sweden, where a second season has been ordered.

Next on the Menu runs to four hour-long episodes and is produced by South Shore for Channel 4 in the U.K. Celebrity Escape is produced by Perpetual Entertainment for Three in New Zealand. Apocalypse, a social experiment show in which cameras follow ordinary people living under set rules, comes from The Garden and ITV Studios Australia. It runs to eight hour-long episodes in which 16 people survive 28 days in an abandoned town.

Secret Garden runs to five 60-minute episodes from Plimsoll Studios. The U.K. version is narrated by David Attenborough. The slate also lists 70 Up, billed as the final chapter of the long-running documentary series 7 Up, which has revisited the same people every seven years.

For viewers, this means a familiar contest played in a new way. No studio. No buzzers in a row. Just pairs on the move and Chasers to find.
