Jordan Pickford pleads guilty to careless driving in Lamborghini incident

England goalkeeper Jordan Pickford has pleaded guilty to careless driving after pulling out in front of two cars in his Lamborghini.
The 32-year-old entered the plea in writing over what happened in Knutsford, Cheshire, on 14 April, BBC. The charge, driving without due care or attention, applies when driving falls below the standard of a careful motorist.
Pickford was behind the wheel of a blue Lamborghini Urus with personalised number plates. At the junction of Princess Street and Toft Road, he ignored the give-way lines and pulled straight onto Toft Road. Two other drivers had to slam on their brakes to avoid a collision.
He then sped down Toft Road, where the speed limit is 30mph. The whole incident was watched by Cheshire Police officer PC Cecil Ricardo, who was stationary nearby on Bexton Road.
PC Ricardo gave chase with lights and siren. He reached 50mph and the Lamborghini was still pulling away. Pickford stopped only after he noticed the police car behind him.
The case was dealt with at Warrington Magistrates' Court. Pickford told the court he wants to attend in person to put forward mitigation, his argument for a lighter sentence. He is due to appear next at Chester Magistrates' Court on 7 December.
Pickford is Everton's first-choice goalkeeper and England's established No. 1, the keeper trusted for major tournaments, Liverpool Echo. The car involved was reported to be worth £200,000, Liverpool Echo.
For fans used to seeing him command a penalty box, this was a different kind of judgement call. No one was hurt. The court will now decide the penalty in December.
