RAYE answers 'one hit wonder' jibe with three billion-stream plaques

RAYE has answered a TikTok user who called her a “one hit wonder” by filming herself counting three plaques for songs with more than one billion streams on Spotify.
She counted to three. The singer pointed to each framed award in turn, then captioned the clip “not being petty just saying,” according to Billboard.
The three tracks she highlighted were “Prada” with Cassö and D-Block Europe, “Escapism” with 070 Shake, and “Where Is My Husband!”. A billion streams marks repeated listening on a very large scale. Spotify gives artists a plaque, a framed award, when a song passes that total.
Her chart record in the United States covers more than those three songs. “Escapism” reached No. 22 on the Billboard Hot 100, the weekly US singles chart, while “Where Is My Husband!” reached No. 11. “Born Again” with BLACKPINK’s LISA and Doja Cat reached No. 68 on the same chart in February 2025.
The reply did not criticise the commenter directly. It let the numbers do the talking.
Those singles sit alongside her recent album work. Her 2026 album This Music May Contain Hope includes “I Will Overcome” and “Husband!”. The album reached No. 11 on the Billboard 200, the weekly US albums chart, and No. 1 on the U.K. charts, according to Billboard.
RAYE performed a medley of “I Will Overcome” and “Husband!” at the 2026 VMAs. She also took part in a George Michael tribute performance during the ceremony.
What makes this stand out is the format. Short response videos have become a normal way for artists to address comments without giving interviews, and plaques make the answer visual.
The same report addressed rumours about her personal life. RAYE said she is not dating actor Michael B. Jordan, stating: “No, we’re just friends who like roller coasters.”
