Taylor Swift set two Spotify single-day records on September 25 with the release of The Life of a Showgirl: The Encore.

She became the most-streamed female artist in a single day in 2026. Her new song “Patient Zero” became the most-streamed song by a female artist in a single day in 2026 so far. Spotify announced both records on September 25 via social media, as reported by Billboard.

The Encore adds four bonus tracks to the original album. The songs are “Patient Zero,” “Babylon,” “Pink Clouding” and “Cleveland!”. The set was released at midnight on Friday, September 25, according to Variety. It is listed as a 2026 album on Swift’s Spotify artist page.

An Encore edition is a reissue. It keeps the original album and adds new material in the same package. In this case, listeners get the full Showgirl track list plus four extra songs. “Patient Zero” led the way.

“Patient Zero” centres on a toxic relationship, according to Reuters. That detail was confirmed around the release. The song took the daily streaming lead within hours.

The original The Life of a Showgirl has spent 12 weeks at No. 1 on the Billboard 200. That chart ranks the most popular albums in the United States each week. It opened with 4.002 million equivalent album units, the measure that converts streams and sales into album sales, in its first week in the US.

Swift has held Spotify records before. Her song “The Fate of Ophelia” broke her own Spotify first-day streaming record after its release in October 2025. In April 2026, she was revealed as Spotify’s most-streamed artist of all time, as reported by People.

For listeners, this means four new songs to find inside a familiar album. The counts reset every day. For now, September 25 belongs to Swift.
