Tulsa King is coming back for more. Paramount+ has renewed the Sylvester Stallone crime drama for a fifth season before its fourth has even aired, according to Deadline.

The renewal, meaning another season has been ordered, lands just ahead of a busy fortnight for the show. Season 4 is set to premiere on 16 October. Cameras are already rolling on Season 5.

Production on the new season is organised out of New York. That is a switch from Atlanta, where the series previously filmed, and it ties directly to story.

Season 5 will dig into the New York mafia roots of Stallone's character, Dwight "The General" Manfredi. Dwight was introduced as a New York mafia capo, meaning a senior crew chief, who builds a new operation after decades away.

Stallone's own future with the programme is now settled. He signed a new deal that helped secure the Season 5 order.

The cast is growing around him. Scarlet Rose Stallone will return as Spencer as a series regular, meaning a full main-cast contract, for Season 5.

Four more actors join in the same capacity. Erik Palladino, Glenn Fleshler, Anthony Skordi and Nickola Shreli have all boarded Season 5 as series regulars.

There is also a new face in the season arriving first. Gretchen Mol joins the Season 4 cast as a series regular.

Behind the camera, Terence Winter continues as head writer and executive producer, the senior creative and management credit on a US series. Taylor Sheridan remains an executive producer. The series is produced by Paramount Television Studios and 101 Studios.

For fans, this means no long wait for a decision. The story keeps going, with its lead secured and its next chapter already in production.

What makes this stand out is timing. Renewals this early are usually reserved for a platform's most reliable performers. Paramount has previously described Tulsa King as its most-watched title on Paramount+, according to Paramount investor materials.
