Seven new furniture and lighting designs have landed on Dezeen Showroom, led by a slender aluminium floor lamp with a wedge-shaped head.

The roundup was published on 5 October 2026 and brings together new lighting, seating and surface designs from Norway, Italy and beyond, according to Dezeen.

The lead piece is the Knekt floor lamp from Norwegian brand Hegren. It is a standing lamp that can be adjusted for both height and light direction, with a slim body and a posable head that can be angled to throw light where it is needed. It tilts. It turns.

The lamp is made from aluminium and is offered in two finishes: black anodised and raw. Anodised, a hardened electrochemical coating that helps resist scratches, gives the black version its dark, even surface, while the raw version leaves the metal exposed. Hegren uses locally sourced aluminium for the arm and body and describes the design as made for the contemporary home, according to Dezeen.

The company says the lamp is made in Norway and credits designer Henrik Grevstad. For the Raw version it gives an adjustable height of 84–120cm, a range that suits reading beside a low chair or a higher seat. Hegren pitches Knekt as a stable, space-saving helper that balances simplicity and function, designed to give precise light by the armchair.

Tiles get a practical twist in the same collection. VitrA Tiles has released V-Flex, an installation method with tongue-and-groove edges, interlocking edges that fit together like floorboards. The aim, Dezeen reports, is installation that is quick, simple, efficient and flexible.

In practice, the tiles slot into place to keep grout lines even and to reduce drying time. Grout, the filler in the gaps between tiles, is often what slows a job down and leaves lines uneven.

Seating makes up the rest of the highlights. ITO Design has created the Silora task chair for Narbutas, defined by a lobe-shaped backrest with soft, rounded curves. A task chair, an office chair built for desk work, lives or dies on back support.

Architect Antonio Citterio and Italian brand Flexform have released Camelot, a seating system characterised by thick padding and cushioning. A seating system means connected modules that can be arranged as a sofa. Here the broad, deep modules sit against exposed metal-and-wood frames that look like low fences.

What makes this batch fun to browse is the contrast. A neat reading light, a faster way to lay tile and deep, low-slung sofas sit side by side. Readers can find photographs and specifications on the dedicated ‘Knekt floor lamp by Hegren’ page on Dezeen Showroom, which also lists the lamp in its lighting section.
