Chanel claims sales lead as Blazy shows spring 2027 in Paris

Chanel, the French luxury house, says it is selling ahead of its rivals as designer Matthieu Blazy prepares his next runway test in Paris.
Blazy is set to present his spring 2027 collection at the Grand Palais on Monday night. It is his latest main-season show since taking the design role, and it lands with the company talking up trade. Bruno Pavlovsky, Chanel's president of fashion, told WWD that Blazy's first year "could not have gone better" and that the house is "significantly outperforming the market."
Blazy's first main collection went on sale in March. His fall 2026 collection landed in stores on Sept. 20. Pavlovsky linked that quick arrival in shops to demand, with no waiting list system in between.
Chanel does not take pre-orders. Pieces are produced in limited runs of 80 to 1,200 per design and sent to 250 boutiques. Collections have an average shelf life of two to three months, which keeps the stock turning fast.
On regions, Pavlovsky reported the United States, Europe and Japan are performing well. China and the rest of Asia have proved resilient. He gave no figures in the interview for the current period.
The wider numbers give context. Chanel, the French luxury house, reported 2025 sales of $19.3 billion, up 2% from 2024, according to Reuters. Growth in the fashion division was reportedly as high as 16 percent in the first six months of 2026, according to Business of Fashion. Chanel had also planned to add 30 stores. Chanel has topped the Lyst rankings, the shopping platform's list of the world's hottest brands, for the last two quarters.
What makes this stand out for shoppers is the calendar. It moves fast, and Chanel fills it.
The house will stage a replica cruise show in Sydney on Nov. 5. A cruise collection is the between-seasons range shown outside the main spring and autumn schedule. Chanel will then unveil its Métiers d'Art collection in Rome on Dec. 2, the annual showcase made with its specialist workshops. Looking further ahead, Blazy will stage his cruise 2027 show in Deauville, in northern France.
