Nolan North would play Nathan Drake again. “110%,” he said.

Speaking at Gamergy in Puerto Rico, North told fans he would return for another Uncharted game if asked. Uncharted is the action-adventure series built around Drake, a treasure hunter known for scaling ruins, solving puzzles and trading jokes under pressure. North voiced the role across the four main games, a run that ended with Uncharted 4: A Thief’s End, released in 2016.

The series follows Drake and his allies as they chase lost fortunes around the world. GameSpot reported his remarks on 5 October 2026.

He kept expectations in check. He has heard nothing about a new Uncharted game. There is no invitation to discuss, as far as he knows. He made that point directly to the crowd.

He is willing. There is nothing to say yes to yet.

His answer came with one clear condition. North said Naughty Dog, the PlayStation studio behind the series, should not make a new entry that falls short of what the earlier games built. He spoke in favour of protecting that legacy. He would rather leave it alone than see it diluted by a weak return.

To explain what he meant, he pointed to Indiana Jones and the Kingdom of the Crystal Skull. He named it as the kind of middling sequel he would not want Uncharted to repeat. It was a long-awaited chapter after much-loved earlier stories. A comeback that, in his view, did not land in the same way.

North knows both sides of the camera. He carried Drake’s voice through years of climbs, crashes and narrow escapes, giving the character his familiar warmth and timing. He later turned up for a brief cameo in the Uncharted movie, a small on-screen appearance quite separate from his long run as the voice of the hero.

That distinction matters for newcomers. One job is playing the lead for players. The other is a nod for fans watching the film.

For fans, this means the position is simple to recognise. The actor is in. The studio has announced nothing. If Naughty Dog ever calls, North says he will answer. The enthusiasm is real, and so is the caution about getting any return right.
