Prime Video has confirmed a sequel to The Love Hypothesis, just days after the film started streaming on Sept. 23.

Tom Bateman revealed the follow-up in an interview published on Oct. 5. He stars as Dr. Adam Carlsen opposite Lili Reinhart as PhD student Olive Smith, in the film based on Ali Hazelwood's romance novel of the same name, according to The Hollywood Reporter.

Bateman said he had not read the book before he signed on. He had only read the script. He did not know the story already had a large readership.

He also said staying offline shielded him from debate around his casting. Bateman told The Hollywood Reporter he is not online, which protected him from feedback about taking the role.

For fans, this means the screen romance will continue. No release date or story details for the sequel have been disclosed.

Reinhart and Bateman previously spoke together about the first film in an interview published on Sept. 24, according to The Hollywood Reporter. Bateman's wife Ridley has been sharing promotions for the film on her own accounts.

Bateman also spoke to Cosmopolitan about playing Adam Carlsen in an interview published on Sept. 23, according to Cosmopolitan. In that conversation he discussed advice from Daisy Ridley.

When he gave the latest interview, Bateman was in Liverpool. He was shooting The Woods, Netflix's new UK series based on Harlan Coben's novel The Woods.

Bateman plays Paul "Cope" Copeland in the series, according to Deadline. The cast also includes Michelle Keegan, Mandeep Dhillon and Pearce Quigley, according to Netflix Tudum.
