Hayley Williams answers Homeland Security after Chula Vista shouts

Hayley Williams answered the U.S. Department of Homeland Security with an explicit insult on Instagram Stories on Monday, 5 October, after the department criticised her remarks about immigration officers.
The exchange began at her concert in Chula Vista, California, over the weekend. During a performance of “Ice in My OJ” she shouted “Fuck ICE” and “Free Palestine,” Rolling Stone reported.
ICE is U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement, the federal agency that carries out immigration enforcement. Williams delivered both shouts during the song itself. She did not soften them.
Those declarations have become a regular feature of her current shows. Since the launch of The Hayley Williams Show in September, the “Fuck ICE” and “Free Palestine” statements have been a staple of the concerts. The Chula Vista date followed that pattern.
At the same show, she spoke again before playing “True Believer.” She told the audience that “the greatest threat to American democracy is Christian nationalism.” Christian nationalism is the term used for the view that American law and public life should be based on a particular Christian identity.
The Department of Homeland Security, the federal department that oversees ICE, then responded. A spokesperson for the department gave a statement to Fox News about Williams and her comments on officers.
“America is grateful all the time for our federal law enforcement officers who keep us safe,” the spokesperson said. “We suggest Ms. Williams to thank them for their service, not belittle their sacrifice.”
Williams replied on Monday, 5 October. She posted a screenshot of the department’s statement to Instagram Stories, the short posts that disappear after 24 hours.
Alongside the screenshot she wrote: “And may I suggest all Nazi bitches suck on my fat dick.” She left the reply up for her followers to read without further explanation.
