Jason Simms launches Fusebox Entertainment ahead of MIPCOM

Television executive Jason Simms has launched Fusebox Entertainment, a London-based drama company that will advise other businesses and build its own slate of shows.
The launch was reported by Deadline on 6 October 2026, in the run-up to MIPCOM, the annual international television market in Cannes where producers and buyers agree sales and partnership deals.
Fusebox will work on two tracks. It will offer consultancy across development, co-production, financing and distribution, plus executive producer services, meaning senior oversight of a show from script to delivery. Alongside that work, it will develop its own drama projects for producers, networks and financiers.
Simms will lead the company himself. He exited his previous post as UK Managing Director at Cineflix-backed C3 Media in March, according to the same report.
Deals are already in place. Fusebox has co-production and development agreements with Cosmopolitan Pictures, Saga Film and High Road Entertainment. A co-production is an arrangement where two or more companies share costs and rights on a series.
Cosmopolitan Pictures is backed by Fifth Season. It is run by Ben Donald, and Fusebox has projects with that team and with The Story Collective. High Road Entertainment was started by former Cineflix executive James Durie and Richard Tulk-Hart.
Consultancy clients span four countries. Simms is advising sales and production businesses in the U.S., UK, New Zealand and Poland.
Simms brings long buying and studio experience. He joined Fox Networks Group in 2004 and was part of the team that built its global series strategy, Deadline reported in 2017. He later served as senior vice president of global acquisitions, acquiring U.S. franchises including The Walking Dead, Dexter and Legion for the group.
He then moved into the Sky system, first joining Sky Vision as Director of Drama and Comedy. At Sky Studios he oversaw commercial strategy, deficit financing and producer relationships on more than 60 Sky originals and third-party scripted series. Deficit financing covers the gap between a show’s budget and what a broadcaster pays upfront.
He also developed a local originals strategy for the launch of SkyShowtime, the streaming joint venture, which produced Polish drama Sleboda.
What makes this stand out is the mix. Fusebox is not only a producer. Its day-to-day business is advice on how dramas get funded and sold, with its own shows growing alongside.
