Dogwoof boards Rapinoe and Hanging By a Wire for international sales

Dogwoof has picked up international rights to two documentaries, Rapinoe and Hanging By a Wire, ahead of MIPCOM, the international market where sellers shop programmes to broadcasters, streamers and cinemas. The deals were reported by Deadline on 6 October.
Rapinoe follows two-time women's World Cup champion Megan Rapinoe. It is directed by Rebeca Huntt and opened the TIFF Docs programme, the documentary strand, at the Toronto Film Festival.
The film is produced by Story Syndicate and Noah Media Group, with Impact Partners presenting. Its producers are Dan Cogan, Huntt, Zoe Potkin and Kate Barry. Dogwoof has taken international rights excluding North America, meaning it will sell licences to buyers in territories outside the United States and Canada.
Hanging By a Wire is directed by Mohammed Ali Naqvi. It premiered at the Sundance Film Festival in 2026 and tells the story of the rescue of six schoolboys and two adults trapped in a cable car 900 feet above a ravine in northern Pakistan.
The film has been selected as Pakistan's official entry for the International Feature Film category at the 2027 Oscars. That is the category for features made outside the United States. Dogwoof handled its UK cinema release and has taken international sales rights.
The rights are split by territory. Paramount+ holds rights to Hanging By a Wire in a number of territories, and Dogwoof will represent the film elsewhere. In the US, Abramorama holds sales rights, after acquiring North American theatrical rights earlier this year, according to Screen Daily.
What makes this stand out is the pairing. One film tracks a high-profile footballer. The other reconstructs a high-altitude rescue. Both will now be offered to buyers country by country.
