IPG to distribute five publishers in US and Canada from 2027

Five publishers will move their book distribution in the United States and Canada to IPG in 2027.
Three of the switches take effect on 1 January 2027. The timetable was reported by Publishers Lunch on 6 October 2026.
Pegasus Books, Pop Icons and Rhiza Press will begin distribution through IPG on that January date. Distribution, in book trade terms, means one company handles sales to shops, storage in warehouses, and shipping of orders on a publisher's behalf. The publisher still decides what to publish.
Two arrivals follow later in the year. Erickson International will begin distribution through IPG on 1 May 2027. Cassava Republic Press will follow on 1 November 2027.
The dates are staggered. Each publisher keeps its own name and editorial control. Only the back-office route to shops changes, covering the US and Canada in each case.
For shoppers, this means little visible change. The same titles should reach bookshops and online retailers, but they will travel through IPG's sales teams and warehouses. Booksellers place orders in a different system. Readers just see the book on the shelf.
