Anna Meredith has announced Darling, her next album, due on 12 February via Mercury KX.

Pitchfork reported the announcement on 6 October. The news arrived with first single “Dusky”. Its music video is out now.

A single is a track released ahead of an album to introduce it. “Dusky” performs that role here. It is the entry point to the new record.

“Dusky” leads an 11-track running order. The songs are “Dusky”, “Mode Mouse”, “Last Words”, “Cry Baby”, “Lye”, “Underling”, “Mink”, “Rites”, “Aphid”, “3019” and “Peach”. That full list was confirmed as part of the announcement.

Darling is her first non-soundtrack album since 2021’s Bumps Per Minute: 18 Studies for Dodgems. A non-soundtrack album is a standalone artist record, not music written to picture. The gap reflects screen work. Since FIBS, Meredith has released scores for the A24 film Tuesday and Netflix’s The End We Start From. A score is original music written to support a film.

UDiscover Music has described Darling as her first studio album since FIBS. That points to the same break from standalone releases. It frames the new record as a return after film projects.

For fans, this means new artist material after a run focused on screen music. Pre-orders for Darling are now open. Her official site lists the date as 12 February 2027 and lists three formats. Buyers can choose limited-edition pink double 12-inch vinyl, which is two long-play colour records, alongside CD and download/streaming.

The new record follows a catalogue built across labels and line-ups. FIBS was released in 2019 on Moshi Moshi / Black Prince Fury and was shortlisted for the 2020 Mercury Music Prize, according to her releases page. It had been due for release on 25 October via Moshi Moshi Records. Her debut album arrived on the same labels in 2016 and won the Scottish Album of the Year Award.

She has also worked beyond the standard album format. Anno is a collaborative project with the Scottish Ensemble. Nuc collects her string quartet pieces and was released on Mercury KX.
