Scotland threw away a half-time lead to lose 2-1 to Slovenia in the Nations League at Hampden Park on 6 October.

Captain Andy Robertson said Scotland were "outfought" and "not good enough" after the defeat. He made the remarks to BBC Sport Scotland BBC Sport.

Scotland led 1-0 at the break through Ryan Christie's close-range backheel, a flicked finish with the heel from near the goal. Slovenia hit back in the second half with goals from Danijel Sturm and Aljosa Matko. It got away from them.

Robertson was blunt about the display. "The whole team on the pitch, I don't think it was a good performance," he said. Manager Sebastien Pocognoli agreed, saying Scotland "didn't deserve to get the win".

The Nations League is UEFA's tournament played between major qualifiers, where teams move up and down between leagues. Scotland came into the home game off a win away in North Macedonia on the Saturday before. That momentum did not survive the night in Glasgow.

Pocognoli took over as Scotland manager in August as Steve Clarke's successor. His first game was the goalless draw away to Slovenia in Ljubljana on 26 September ESPN. Three days later Scotland lost 3-0 at home to Switzerland after going down to 10 men with a red card. Robertson said then that the game plan went "completely out the window" after the sending-off.

The group remains tight. Switzerland beat Slovenia 2-1 in Group B1 on 3 October UEFA. Scotland's return with Slovenia was staged at Barclays Hampden in Glasgow.

For fans, this means a familiar frustration. A sharp first-half finish gave Hampden something to hold on to. Then came a second half where Scotland lost duels, lost control and lost the game.
