Monster Hunter Rise is coming to iOS and Android through Netflix, according to new store listings. Eurogamer

The listings point to a soft launch, a limited early release used to test a game before a wider rollout. The catch is the subscription. A Netflix membership is required to download and play the mobile version.

Apple's Philippines storefront hosts a listing titled Monster Hunter Rise Netflix, under app ID 6740350229. Apple App Store The store page describes it as a multiplayer action RPG, a role-playing game built around real-time combat, featuring crafted weapons and monsters.

In Rise, players take on the role of a hunter. They track large creatures, defeat them and use the parts to build stronger weapons and armour. The loop is hunt, craft, hunt again.

Rise was first released for Nintendo Switch in 2021. It later released for PC, Xbox and PlayStation.

The mobile edition is stored and runs natively on the device. It is not streamed over the internet, so the game files live on the phone or tablet itself.

Controls have been rebuilt for touchscreens. The mobile version features reconstructed touch controls for smartphones and tablets, optimised for each weapon's unique control scheme. That matters because Rise has 14 weapon types, each with its own moves and timing.

There is also a new Recovery Button. It automatically selects the most effective item from the inventory based on the hunter's health and status, cutting down menu time in the middle of a fight.

Quest access is changing too. Challenge and Event Quests previously available as paid or temporary DLC, extra downloadable content sold separately or offered for a limited time, can now be unlocked by progressing through the game.

The store pages were first flagged on 7 October 2026. RPG Site reported that date that Rise was heading to iOS and Android through Netflix.

For players, this means a console hunt reshaped for shorter sessions and touch play, with quest unlocks tied to progress rather than separate purchases.

Rise is not the only Monster Hunter heading to phones. Monster Hunter Outlanders is scheduled to launch on mobile on 29 October 2026, according to Capcom. Capcom
