Olivia Rodrigo has ruled out using artificial intelligence in her songs.

“I would never use AI in any of my music,” she told The Hollywood Reporter in a cover story published on Oct. 7, according to Billboard. “Absolutely no. Hard line on that.”

The question was direct. Her answer was shorter. No AI vocals, no AI songwriting help, no exceptions.

Rodrigo said she did try one small experiment. She and producer Dan Nigro once asked ChatGPT, the chatbot that generates text on request, what it would suggest for an Olivia Rodrigo title.

They were not impressed.

The ideas it returned were “all f–king awful,” she said. That was the end of the test.

The interview also addressed rumours about her dating life. Rodrigo said, “I’m single, I don’t have a boyfriend.”

Photos that surfaced in July had linked her to a man believed to be a private equity associate for AI investment firm Hg Capital, Billboard reported. Rodrigo did not name anyone in the interview. She said it feels invasive that every casual date ends up photographed and posted online.

What makes this stand out is how plain she kept it. No long explanation about technology. No comment on other artists. Just a clear personal rule, stated twice for emphasis.

For fans, this means the process stays human. Songs written in the room, with people, and titles that come from the same place.
