Netflix will release its country-music drama Heartland and its full soundtrack on the same day, 13 November.

The film is directed by Shana Feste and stars Jessica Chastain as retired country singer Misty Jones, according to Billboard. The soundtrack will arrive on Netflix Music, with the official announcement dated 6 October 2026.

In the story, former country star Misty Jones returns to Nashville to unravel the truth behind her rising-star niece's disappearance, Netflix says in its listing for the film. Netflix classifies Heartland as a drama and thriller.

That niece is Charlie Heart, played by country singer Carter Faith. Faith recorded new music for the film's original soundtrack, Netflix confirmed in its trailer materials.

The cast blends actors and working country musicians. Jennifer Nettles, one half of the duo Sugarland, plays country singer Winnie Jo Lean and also appears in the cast alongside Faith. The film also features Garrett Hedlund and Wynn Everette, with Ross Lynch, Paul Sparks and John Hawkes listed among the wider ensemble.

The music leans heavily on Nashville voices. Jennifer Nettles, Carter Faith, Margo Price and Carly Pearce are among the country artists leading the soundtrack.

Chastain sings on the title track. "Heartland" is performed by Jessica Chastain featuring Jennifer Nettles. Nettles also performs solo on "You're Gonna Burn For That."

Faith has two cuts. She performs "Still the Sparrow Sings" on her own and "Honeycomb" with Trannie Anderson. Elsewhere on the album, Carly Pearce performs "Ready & Waiting," while John Hawkes and Margo Price pair up on "Too Late For Coffee, Too Early for Beer." Channing Wilson is also featured on the soundtrack.

For fans, this means the voices heard on screen carry through to the record. The film puts its singers in front of the camera as well as on the track list, so the 13 November release delivers both parts of the project at once.
