Netflix has released the official trailer for Season 2 of North of North, the Canadian comedy centred on a young Inuk mother rebuilding her life. The series follows Siaja, played by Anna Lambe. Netflix describes the character as an optimistic young woman on a journey to reinvent herself. Netflix That premise drove the first season. It now carries into the second.

Lambe leads the returning cast for the new season. Season 2 brings back Maika Harper, Braeden Clarke, Jay Ryan, Mary Lynn Rajskub, Zorga Qaunaq, Bailey Poching, Nutaaq Simmonds and Keira Cooper. The full list was reported by Deadline in its coverage of the trailer launch. Deadline

North of North comes from Stacey Aglok MacDonald and Alethea Arnaquq-Baril. It was the first original series to come out of Netflix’s Canada office. The show is co-produced with the Canadian Broadcasting Corporation, the CBC, in partnership with APTN.

A co-production means two or more broadcasters share the making of a show. Here the partners are a global streamer, Canada’s public broadcaster and APTN, the Aboriginal Peoples Television Network.

Season 2 names seven executive producers, the senior team who oversee creative and business decisions on a series. They are MacDonald, Arnaquq-Baril, Miranda de Pencier, Mike Goldbach, Garry Campbell, Jessie Gabe and Robin Gurney.

The first season was a half-hour comedy. It ran for eight episodes of 30 minutes each, about four hours in total. Netflix lists it as a 2025 TV-MA comedy, meaning it carries a United States rating for mature audiences, and it premiered on 10 April. The company calls the show a heartfelt Arctic comedy.

For fans, this means a return to familiar faces and a familiar town. The new trailer keeps the focus on family, community and starting over. No new premiere date was included in the materials released so far. The trailer is now available to watch on YouTube.
