Dermot Mulroney has left NBC's Chicago Fire after two seasons as Battalion Chief Dominic "Dom" Pascal, with the Season 15 premiere as his final episode, according to Deadline.

The episode aired on 7 October at 9 p.m. ET on NBC. It followed Chicago Med Season 12 at 8 p.m. ET, and new Chicago Fire episodes are available to stream on Peacock, according to NBC Insider.

Mulroney joined the firehouse drama as Pascal in Season 13. He stepped into the chief's office after Eamonn Walker, who played Wallace Boden across the first 12 seasons and later returned for a guest appearance in Season 13, according to Deadline.

The premiere settles who leads Firehouse 51. Kelly Severide turns down an inspector job offer and chooses the chief's post instead. He still does inspector work in private to help Joe Cruz clear his name after accusations linked to the Season 14 finale fire.

Pascal's exit followed a run of trouble on screen and a break off screen. Mulroney went on hiatus during the later part of Season 14, according to Deadline. His character faced major legal trouble and had his position as chief revoked, according to NBC Insider. He returned for Season 15 billed as the firehouse's former chief.

Season 15 is led by Victor Teran as showrunner, meaning the lead writer-producer in charge of the series. Cast change is not limited to Mulroney. Joe Miñoso was also reported as leaving the series, according to NJ.com.

Mulroney already has other work lined up. He played Jed Banks as a series regular, meaning a main contracted cast member, on Netflix's The Hunting Wives. Netflix has renewed that drama for a third season ahead of its Season 2 premiere. He has also booked roles in the films Moon People and Streets.

For fans, this means a new command structure at Firehouse 51 and a clean break for Pascal. Severide holds the top job, Cruz fights to prove his innocence, and Mulroney moves on to streaming and film.
