Florian Zeller's The Truth is returning to the West End with its four stars intact.

The comedy will play the Theatre Royal Haymarket for 12 weeks. Performances start on 29 July 2027 and run until 16 October. The dates were confirmed on 8 October 2026, as reported by WhatsOnStage.

Stephen Mangan leads the company as Michel, whose lies set the plot in motion. Ardal O'Hanlon plays his friend Paul. Sarah Hadland plays Alice and Janie Dee plays Laurence. The announcement keeps the same four actors in the same four roles.

The quartet performed the play together at the Apollo Theatre. That West End run was billed as a strictly limited 14-week season. It closed on 12 September 2026, according to Official London Theatre.

Lindsay Posner directs the returning production. Christopher Hampton translated Zeller's original French text into English. Lizzie Clachan provides set and costume design, with lighting design by Richard Howell and sound design by Adam Cork. All three designers are credited for this staging.

The Truth has a long London history. It received its UK premiere at the Menier, with Frances O'Connor, Tanya Franks, Alexander Hanson and Robert Portal in the cast. That production closed on 7 May 2016. The play then transferred to the West End, where it played from 22 June to 3 September 2016.

More than a decade separates that first West End run from the Haymarket return. The 2027 booking runs through late summer and into mid-autumn. It is a straight West End to West End move, from the Apollo to the Haymarket.

The Haymarket run will be followed by a tour. The first stop is Theatre Royal Brighton from 18 to 23 October, opening straight after London. The show then plays the Lowry in Salford from 26 to 30 October 2027.

It heads to the Alexandra Theatre in Birmingham from 2 to 6 November. The final announced dates are at Theatre Royal Glasgow from 9 to 13 November. That makes four one-week touring stops across England and Scotland.

For fans outside London, this means a short wait. The same cast seen at the Haymarket will take the production on the road. No further casting or creatives have been announced.
