CBS is taking the courtroom to Silicon Valley.

The network's new drama is Cupertino, a legal procedural, meaning each episode turns on a new case, created by Robert and Michelle King. Variety published its review of the series on 8 October 2026.

Mike Colter leads the cast as attorney Michael Price. He plays a lawyer taking on big technology companies from inside the boom around artificial intelligence.

He is joined by Rachel Keller as entry-level associate Olivia Siffre and Busy Philipps as Natalia Boutella. Ella Stiller plays investigator Christy, and Jackie Hoffman appears as a judge.

The set-up is deliberately small against large. CBS and the Kings have pitched the programme as a David vs. Goliath legal drama set in the heart of Silicon Valley, where a modest firm faces clients and opponents with far deeper pockets.

That pairing is familiar to CBS viewers. Robert and Michelle King previously created The Good Wife, The Good Fight and Evil, and they also created Elsbeth.

CBS ordered Cupertino from the Kings under their King Size Productions banner. Variety reported the order in October 2025. The Kings write, executive produce and co-showrun the series, meaning they oversee the scripts and the day-to-day production.

The cast kept growing through production. Method Man joined the CBS series in September, Variety reported.

For viewers keeping track, this means one team stays in charge from script to screen. That matters because a network procedural employs a large organisation of writers, crew and recurring cast across a full season.

The launch has drawn wide review attention. The Hollywood Reporter published its review on 6 October, and The New York Times followed on 7 October with a review titled 'The People v. A.I.'. The New York Times described Cupertino as a delightful new legal drama suggesting tech might be the final boss.
