Taylor Swift to perform at Academy Museum Gala on Oct. 17

Taylor Swift will perform at the Academy Museum Gala on Oct. 17, Variety reported on Oct. 8.
The performance is set for the Academy Museum of Motion Pictures in Los Angeles. The gala is the museum's annual fundraiser. Money raised supports its exhibitions, screenings and educational programming.
The evening is presented by Rolex, according to the same report. It is co-chaired by Robert Rodriguez, Steven Spielberg and Kate Capshaw.
Three film honourees are already confirmed. Charlize Theron will be honoured with the Icon Award. Colman Domingo will receive the Vantage Award, and director John Carpenter will be presented with the Luminary Award.
Swift arrives with a busy screen-music run behind her. Her single “I Knew It, I Knew You” is written for “Toy Story 5”. She was recently presented with the inaugural Artist-Director Award at the MTV VMAs. She also premiered her self-directed “Patient Zero” music video, which stars Dakota Johnson and Colin Farrell.
What makes this stand out is the mix. The gala honours screen careers. It now adds a live set from one of pop’s biggest touring acts. For fans, this means a rare, small-room Swift show tied to film, not a stadium date.
