KATSEYE's Sophia to resume group activities in January 2027

Sophia Laforteza will resume group activities with KATSEYE in the first week of January 2027.
Labels HYBE x Geffen confirmed the return date on 8 October, according to Billboard. The date is set.
Sophia will not join KATSEYE for the rest of 2026. That means she will miss the North American dates on the WILDWORLD tour and other promotional activities this year. The North American run is due to begin in Miami and wrap in Mexico City on 27 November.
In a statement shared through the labels, Sophia said she has been “putting in the work by receiving the care I need, learning the tools to better support myself, and doing everything I can to nurture my well-being.” She added that her goal is to return “happier, healthier, stronger, more grounded” and ready to perform again.
Sophia first announced a hiatus from the group in August. She shared the news in a statement posted on social media, saying she needed to focus on her health. Reporting at the time described it as a temporary step back to prioritise her mental health and wellness.
Her break followed an earlier pause for fellow member Manon Bannerman, who has been on a break since February. That left fans watching a reduced line-up through a busy release period. The subject even featured on an episode of Billboard’s Pop Shop Podcast on 10 August 2026, which discussed Sophia stepping back and whether the group would continue as a quartet.
KATSEYE kept momentum during that period. In August, the group scored its first No. 1 on the Billboard 200, the weekly ranking of the most popular albums in the United States, with its third EP, WILD.
For fans, this means a wait through the autumn. The group will close out its North American tour and year-end promotion without Sophia. January then brings her full return to group activities.
