The Danish Royal House has recorded Queen Margrethe of Denmark back in public, one month after she left hospital.

Photos and video published on 8 October show the 86-year-old at a concert in Fredensborg Church with King Frederik of Denmark, Queen Mary of Denmark and Princess Benedikte of Denmark, according to the household's entry Danish Royal House. She is 86.

The occasion was the 300th anniversary of Fredensborg Church, the small palace church beside Fredensborg Palace, the royal family's spring and autumn residence north of Copenhagen. The household titled its record 'Kongeparret, H.M. Dronning Margrethe og H.K.H. Prinsesse Benedikte overværede koncert i anledning af Fredensborg Slotskirkes 300-års jubilæum'.

Margrethe sat with Frederik, Mary and Benedikte for the anniversary concert. It was her first public outing noted by the household since her September hospital stay Hello! Magazine.

On 6 September, the Danish Royal Household announced that Margrethe had been admitted to Rigshospitalet, Denmark's main hospital in Copenhagen, after feeling unwell. Doctors then diagnosed a new blood clot in the hip area and mild dehydration.

She returned home on 10 September. Doctors recommended reduced activity for the following weeks.

Margrethe abdicated in 2024, the formal act of giving up the throne, in favour of her son Frederik. She retains the title of queen. Frederik reigns as king with Mary as queen.

Before the church concert, Margrethe had also welcomed visitors to Fredensborg Palace for a special honour following her hospitalisation Hola!.

For fans, this means a reassuring sight. A family evening of music, and four generations of routine back on the record.
